We had the pleasure of attending Manchester Arena last night as guests to watch Disney On Ice 2018 – Dream Big. The twins were extremely excited. After a bit of a mad rush and a last-minute invite for my friend we got there in good time.
We had the chance to meet Mickey Mouse. The twins just loved giving high fives and hugs. They posed beautifully for a picture as well. Myself and Karen even got in on the action and had a cheeky cuddle and picture with Mickey.
Once all the fun with Mickey, colouring in and gift bag was finished we made our way to arena and our seats. We sat in block 113 row B. The view was fantastic and the boys could see everything.
The evening starts with Mickey, Minnie and Tinkerbell. They got all the audience clapping and awake and then before I knew it Aladdin was on. It’s took me a minute to get settled and into the show, think some of that was our fault as we left it a little last-minute to get to our seats.
The boys were mesmerised by the lights, the skating and just the whole atmosphere. It’s so magical for the little ones to see characters from stories and the TV in real life.
After Aladdin came Beauty and the Beast and Rapunzel. The boys weren’t as impressed by these because it was princesses. They still had their eyes glued to the ice though. I loved singing along because I love both these film.
“It’s Maui mummy” yes you guessed it Moana was on. Moana was an amazing skater and Maui was just like the character in the film. The boys loved this section of the show.
It’s was then one of my favorite parts and I remember some of this from our last Disney On Ice show. It’s was just as magical though and really gets you in the Disney spirit. The little fish was amazing.
Interval time – you can purchase lots of Disney related merchandise. They have frozen ice cups costing about £9 each and you get to keep the novelty cup to take home.
Interval over it was time to head back to my inner child with sleeping beauty. They had a fire-breathing dragon which pleased the boys and was their favorite part of the show.
Next up was Cinderella. Her carriage was simply amazing. Golden and sparkling, oh to be a princess. I just loved Cinderella as a little girl.
Now my favorite part of the night Frozen. I just love watching the film and sang along to all the songs. The boys laughed lots when Olaf came out on the ice. They went through a phase being obsessed with him and we would watch the film nearly everyday.
The grand finale. The end was nearing and nearly time to go home. The whole cast comes out on the ice to wave and say good-by. It’s back to reality now and being and adult, my inner child tucked away until next time.
We had a fabulous time. There was something for us all.
There is still time to get tickets to see Disney On Ice Dream Big.
