One week of the school holidays left and I am so ready for the kids to go back to school. The summer holidays is the worst one for me with all four at home and wanting to do different things. Life is hard trying to balance everything to keep them all happy. I have drunk litres and litres of coffee. We have all cried. I’ve had more headaches than hot diners and I am now ready to go back to work. I work in a school as well and that seems like heaven right now.
We have had a difficult year with family illness and issues to deal with and that’s why we have been a little bit quiet on the blog and our social media. We are back though and looking to forward to sharing lots of new things with you. I am doing a Food Preparation NVQ at work and have been creating some amazing recipes which I can’t wait to share with you. I just need to work on my photography skills so the pictures look as yummy as the food tastes because I have made some amazing stuff so far. Roasted Rhubarb and Pistachio Cake being the best so far.
Since Christmas (can’t believe its been that long) we have been up to all sorts. The boys finished their time in Pre School and graduated a few weeks ago ready to start big school next week. I can not believe they are going to big school already, the time has flown by. I took the boys to see their first ever theatre show thanks to Jenny at The Brick Castle. It was called What The Lady Bird Heard and we got to go on stage afterwards and meet the cast. The show was amazing and the boys loved every second of it. It was a great show and perfectly written for the audience age range.
We have visited all sorts of places to have family time. The beach, parks, National Trust places. Anything and everything to keep the kids happy. This included me booking a last minute deal to Butlins and when I say last minute I mean I booked it at 10am Monday for check in that day at 4pm. I know madness and yes it was mad but the smiles on the children’s faces was worth it all. The twins had their first holiday and Kaitlin and Jack got to relive some great memories from when they were younger, We are now planning a proper family holiday next year after seeing the twins are so ready for a plane, the beach, eating out and pool days in the sun. I can’t wait just to start saving now.
So the big question is Murder Charge or not?
We joke how we will survive the holidays without killing the kids. Have you survived the school holidays? Was there times you have wanted to curl up and cry? Have you had lots of fun and laughter? Please tell us what you have been doing over the holidays below we would love to hear what everyone has been up to.
