Over the years we have had a selection of Hot Wheels toys. Jack was obsessed at one point but had sort of grown out of them until he got his hands on this Hot Wheels RC Bladez Drone Racerz. He couldn’t wait to get it open and play with it. The Hot Wheels Drone Racerz isn’t like a normal drone it is a car that uses a drone to boost its speed and you can fly the drone on its own. Jack was super excited to fly the drone more than driving the car. He seems to love all toys that fly at the minute.
When we opened the box it was really simple to set up, There are full instructions. The only bit that we struggled with was Jack being inpatient waiting for the drone to charge. He wanted to play with instantly. The Hot Wheels RC Bladez Drone Racerz comes with the below:
- 1x 2.4GHz Drone
- 1x Chassis
- 1x Spare Body Shell
- 4x Spare Rotor Blades
- Stunt Set
- 1x Hoop
- 2x Ramp
- 1x Checkpoint
- 1x Phone Holder
- 1x Instruction Manual
- 1x USB Charger
- 1x Screwdriver
The drone takes about 60 mins to charge and Jack couldn’t wait to get started. We tried the car first in the kitchen because it didn’t work very well on the carpet. You can also use the car on Hot Wheel Tracks though so that would solve any carpet issues for you. We couldn’t believe how fast the drone moved the car across the kitchen. It took a little while to control but once he worked it out he was off.
After playing with the car and ramps and trying out a few stunts he wanted to try just the Drone. It’s really easy to add and remove from the car which is good, it means he isn’t asking me to change it all the time for him. Initially he struggled getting the drone to work and fly how he wanted it to but perseverance and an empty living room soon sorted that. He loves flying the drone round and playing tricks on his little brothers with it.
The drone is plastic and unbreakable, well it can handle being smashed into a wall and the floor that’s for sure. Jack had a few crash landings whilst learning to fly. It has plastic which re shapes if knocked. The set also comes with spare propellers should they break and need replacing. Just make sure you follow the instructions because if you don’t replace them back in the right order your drone won’t fly properly.
This is probably one of Jacks favourite reviews for a while. He’s really enjoyed playing with it and its a toy that keeps making and appearance. Its not gone to toy heaven never to be played with again like some others we have reviewed.
The Hot Wheels RC Bladez Drone Racerz costs around £40 which I think is a reasonable cost for what you get. As mentioned above it is a toy he plays with often and sure he will continue to have fun for a while to come. You can get your Hot Wheels RC Bladez Drone Racerz from all good toys stores and amazon.
