Do you play games at home? We try and play a variety of games as we all seem to like different ones. Jack loves to play games and have family time. He likes us all to spend time together sometimes that’s all 6 of us and sometimes just Neil, Kaitlin, Jack and myself. When I looked at 5 Second Rule Jr at Blog On earlier this year I knew it would be a good game for us to try. I have played the normal version before and know the kids found some of the cards a bit hard so this junior version is perfect.
5 Second Rule is a naming game (well that’s how I would describe it). The reader selects a card and reads it out before turning the 5 second timer. The next player then has to name 3 things. If you name them in under 5 seconds you move one space. The next person then has 5 seconds to name another three things but cannot repeat any already said. If they do it they also move one space and you keep going till someone can’t do it. That person then doesn’t move a space.
The next person in the game chooses a card and you repeat the above. Playing with kids is super funny as some of the things they come out with can be hilarious.
The game comes with 500 double sided cards. Loads to get through before you get any repeats.
It’s a great game to play with the kids and you can pick it up for around £10 which is a bargain for lots of laughter. Kids just come out with the funniest of answers.
There is also an adult version called 5 Second Rule. The cards are slightly harder and can be lots more fun to play especially at a party with friends and family.
