We love building things in our house. We have a huge selection of Lego, Meccano and other building toys. One brand we haven’t tried before is K’NEX so when asked would we like to try the Web Weaver Roller Coaster I had to say yes.
We find Lego super easy and Meccano more of a challenge we didn’t really know what to expect with K’NEX. We opened up the packaging and checked out the instructions before starting. The instructions say to count all your pieces before starting. We did and found out we were missing a piece but this has easily been rectified with the User support group (details below). It’s also a good idea as we found it easy having them all laid out in groups. The instructions are really simple to follow and Jack was able to make a start on his own. Jack is aged 9 and quite good at construction toys but he did find a few of the steps a little challenging. Nothing a little help for Mum and Dad couldn’t sort though. The web weaver roller coaster took him about 2.5 hours to build all together. He had a few breaks and went back to it when the twins weren’t trying to be helpful whilst actually hindering his progress. Thankfully he’s very patient with them.Building the structure is quite easy and the pieces all click together. Once the structure started to take place I was extremely surprised how sturdy some plastic sticks could be. While you have to be careful clicking in your pieces the finished structure is really quite solid. That was well-tested with the twins. The pieces are all colour coded so it’s easy to make sure you are using the right ones. It’s also makes the structure look good when built. The actually track sections are glow in the dark. They are white colour in the light and make the structure look pretty cool. We did try the glow in the dark element out but I didn’t manage to get a picture. The track did glow though and as the track warmed up a little with the car going round it became a little brighter. This K’NEX web weaver roller coaster is a fabulous present for anyone who likes construction toys. I was extremely happy with the quality of the product. The sturdiness was a shock to me, I thought it would be flimsy but found it to be very sturdy. You can buy the Web Weaver Roller Coaster from lots of toy store like Argos and Smyths as well as Amazon.
If you are missing any pieces when you first open your set it’s really easy to order replacement ones FOC on the Knex user group. You just need some basic details from your purchase, box and instructions. You can also purchase replacement parts for any parts you have lost of broken from older sets.
