The twins have never been to any kind of pantomime or show before so yesterday was such and adventure for them. We traveled to Manchester to see Disney On Ice using the Metrolink. They know daddy gets on the tram everyday so loved having a turn themselves. Its a great way to get in and out of Manchester and only costs £6.20 for a family ticket allowing travel round Manchester.
As a mum I was a little nervous and unsure what security would be like at the Manchester Arena after the events in May. I know I wasn’t the only parent feeling this way but life must go on. I checked the security measures in place which now mean you aren’t able to take rucksacks in with you so we opted for a bag for life instead. Security is tight but welcome and they seemed very organised and we entered quickly with no issues.Once in the arena the boys were very excited. Children had lots of flashing toys, wands, spinning things all the things you expect at a Disney show. They have and array of merchandise you can buy starting from around £8 rising to as much as £20 for a flashing wand. The boys didn’t seem interested at all so we settled for some ice cream, crisps and drinks.
The first half had the Lion King in which I personally loved and the boys loved the skating Lions. The second part was Peter Pan and Tinker bell and whilst it was fabulous to watch the boys didn’t really relate to this as it’s not something they have watched. The second half was Aerial and lots of brightly coloured dancing fish. The boys loved this part. Then Frozen came in and the arena erupted it certainly had a lot of Elsa and Anna fans in. The boys love frozen so really enjoyed it. Olaf was fabulous and the one character the boys had been waiting for.
We were sat in Block 110 row P and the view was fabulous. They could see everything what was happening. We had a fantastic time at the show and I will certainly be going to more shows now with the boys.
