We love pasta in our house. We have it at least twice a week for evening meals. It’s such an easy ingredient to use in meals and also very cost-effective. We usually always have Penne or Fusilli in the house. They seem to be popular choices and you can usually buy huge bags which make life easier when feeding 6 people. I am rubbish at cooking it though I either under cook or overcook. It’s the one meal Neil can cook to perfection.
Pasta can be made really tasty by adding sauces and dressing. We often make our own take on tomato sauce and serve with pasta and cheese. It’s one of the kids favorite meals and really easy to make. One of my favorites is Lasagne it’s a real family meal and I like that we all sit together and eat. Pasta dishes are also such a cost-effective way of feeding your family.
What I didn’t realise after all these years is that different pastas works better with different meal choices. The below picture tells you what some of the pastas are best served with. I also didn’t realise pasta is from different regions and different parts of Italy tend to use different pasta. The below info gives you a little snippet of Italy and pastas just like the Olive Oil post we did a while ago.
I like the look of some of these pastas and I am already thinking of different dishes I can make. I love trying new recipes out and love to take inspiration when eating out. We tried some amazing dishes when we visited Jamie’s Italian and I think I need to make another trip to find some more ideas.
