We love LEGO in our house. We have so many different sets from small things like the ambulance and bin trucks from the city range to the big fire plane. Jack loves building it and usually gets a new piece every birthday and Christmas. When we were asked would we like to try out Mayka tape I was intrigued if it would actually work or not.
Mayka tape is basically soft block shaped tape. It has a silicone texture and is flexible with a sticky backing tape. I was really keen to put it to the test and see if it was a strong as the packaging and marketing material says. We have a space shuttle which we used for out first test if the Mayka tape. We cut a piece of tape from the roll and applied it to the ceiling and placed our rocket on it. It has stayed in place very comfortably with no movement now for 15 hours. We removed it after leaving it over night and the tape was very firmly in place. It didn’t take any paint of when removing neither which a plus point.
The twins were mesmerised by how it was stuck on the ceiling. They thought it was fantastic and couldn’t understand how we had made it fly in the kitchen. They thought it was fantastic and have been running in and out of the kitchen all night to check it was still flying.
After the space rocket worked so well we wanted to try the ambulance and surprise Neil when he came home from work. We used the PVC plastic on the back door. Like with the rocket we cut a strip long enough and placed it in the door. We then attached the ambulance. Again the boys thought this was amazing.
After our experiments I am in love with this Makya tape. It fantastic for making rockets fly but would also make great play areas for children. Because the tape can be cut to the size you want and its flexibility you can stick it anywhere.
Mayka tape is great for displaying your finished pieces making sure they are secured to a worktop. You could also use it to make your own block boards, walls and miniature worlds. Basically you can stick it anywhere that takes your fancy and build.
You can find more ideas videos and information about Mayka tape at the Mayka World Website. The tape is available in the UK and the The Entertainer have it on pre-order at the moment in an array of colours starting from £7.00.
