Do you have minions mad children like I do? Then they will love this Despicable Me 3 Labyrinth game from Ravensburger. It’s very much like the traditional Labyrinth but with all your favourite minions characters to mix it up. Kaitlin and Jack have enjoyed playing this game and the twins even tried to get in on the action but were way to young to understand the game.
The game is all about navigating the maze and collecting your characters. You take it in turns to move around the maze and change the direction of the maze with an additional piece. The first person to turn all their character cards over and get back to their starting square wins.
The game comes with two sets of cards that all just pop out easily. The box has a plastic insert which houses all the cards safely when not in use.
To set the game up is really simple you place all the maze cards on the board leaving the extra one to the side. The extra piece is what the first player uses to change the maze. When they add that piece another will slide off which is what the next player uses to change the maze.
When it’s your turn you choose a character card. You then need to work out a route to get to your character through the maze. Each player must change the maze before moving their counter. You may not be able to navigate to your character in one go and need several turns but you must change the maze before each move even if you don’t need to in order to reach your character.
The first person to turn all their character cards over and return to starting point is the winner. You can make it a little easier for smaller players by not having to return to base before each character retrieval.
It’s a good tactical game. It took a little bit of getting used to but once we all worked it out it was lots of fun.
You can buy from all good toy shops or Amazon.
