We love formula one in this house and the boys love watching fast cars and playing them in the garden. We often try to create a race track in the garden. It’s just not the same as a real race track though is it on the grass. We have little tikes cars and also battery-powered quads they love to drive and play with.
Unfortunately the battery quads don’t drive very well on the grass and we have to ride them round the street or in the park. The boys love them though and we do have a garden big enough to drive round but I spend more time pushing them than they do driving them on their own.
When visiting the park the other day and seeing the marking on the floor and how easy the quads drive I thought wouldn’t it be a great idea if you could create playground markings in your own back garden. Off in search of the internet I went and found some amazing race track creations. We could have our very own race track made out of that squidgy tarmac our garden is massive so would make an awesome play space for Edward and Euan.
They also love pretending to be cars on the school race track playground markings. They have a road area which has crossings and traffic lights. Its super funny when I pick Jack up because they run around pretending to be cars and stop at the crossing to let me cross. Its been a great tool to teach them about road safety.
What I didn’t realise is the marking are so simple to create and apply. You could have an amazing garden for you children and the envy of all the neighbourhood kids. I cant wait to buy our own house now and have our very own park and race track to play in.
