Are you a Prosecco kind of person. I like a glass when its well chilled on a hot summers day in the garden or even better over looking the beach. I find sometimes plain Prosecco can get a little bit boring and I like to spice mine up a little by using it a mixer in Mojito Royals or adding a liqueur but making Frozecco Cocktails is my favourite
Frozecco Cocktails are a great way to mix things up and make BBQ drinks for friends. They are super easy to prepare and not expensive to make. The only equipment you need is a good blender. You can use all sorts of different fruits to create some amazing refreshing drinks.
How to make a strawberry & orange flavoured Frozecco Cocktails.
- 150ml Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Aldi, £7.99
- 20ml fresh orange juice
- 1 cup frozen whole strawberries
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Garnish with fresh strawberries or oranges
- Blend all ingredients together until smooth
- Garnish with orange slices and/or strawberries as desired
- Serve immediately
You can use any fruit you like, the key is to freezing your fruit. You could freeze blackberries, raspberries etc. Mango also makes a refreshing drink. The fizz of the Prosecco is what makes them the Frozecco cocktails.
If you don’t have a high end blender that will crush ice what you could do is blend fresh fruit and freeze so its like a sorbet and blend that instead with Prosecco. It doesn’t make it a slush like consistency like the Frozecco cocktails but will still be thick and cool to drink.
Another take on the Frozecco cocktail for camping or a picnic is blending your fruit and freezing so its like a sorbet. By the time you travel to your location the sorbet will have softened and mix perfectly with a few bubbles adding a bit of sparkle to any picnic. It wont be as good as freshly made and blended but the flavours will be there. We intend on doing this when we go glamping for our Filthy Girl Mud Run. Do keep a look out for our posh picnic ideas.
