Do you have little ones like my twins who love playing on your phone or the Ipad. Edward and Euan are always playing on Kaitlin games and love matching games and just generally playing with her phone and Ipad. When asked would we like to try a game aimed at children under 5 I jumped at the chance.
The game is called Dinosaur Train: Paint and Match and is based on the Jim Henson TV Series. This is one of many games released by makers Kuato Studios you can download from your app store or google play. It costs just 99p to download. At first I had only seen images of what I could expect so was unsure if it would be entertaining or not.
After downloading I had a play myself before letting the twins loose with the Ipad, I am now addicted to the matching game never mind the twin. The twins went straight for the colouring in.
When you load the app up you get a screen with Buddy the Dinosaur or Mr Conductor. This when you choose to either paint with Buddy or play matching with Mr conductor. Its well illustrated so easy for young children to make a choice themselves.
Mr Conductor has 4 difficulty levels in matching. We do the 6 card with the boys and I am working on the 20 cards. When you select your difficulty level it shows you cards for a few seconds, certainly long enough to remember where they are on the easier levels. It then turns them all overs and you try to match them together.
The boys love the colouring in. They love getting crayons out and drawing so being able to do it on screen with no mess is perfect. There are 24 pictures to choose from and then some blank pages they can draw on. There is a paint palate with colours to choose from which spin around. You can then select pencil, paint brush and rubber for any mistakes. Below are some of the boys creations.
For 99p we have already had so much fun with this app. Its great for children under 5 I think its been well designed and created for ease of use. It doesn’t need an adult to help. The twins just click and play now after being shown only a few times.
This a certainly and App that will be staying on our devices for the foreseeable future.
