The twins are learning more and more everyday. They love dressing up and role play at nursery as well as copying us around the house. This got me thinking more about other kids who at that preschool/reception class age always want to be like mum and dad when they grow up.
We recently visited a place in London called Kidzania which allow you to dress up and become your mum and dad for a short time being a fireman, window cleaner, supermarket checkout person. It lets them explore there imagination. The thought they have put into each activity is amazing. The dressing up outfits, the role play are all well thought out and very life like. It was just a shame the twins didn’t come and are slightly to young to experience it as they would have loved it.
Below is a picture of Jack as a window cleaner with his tools and outfit.
This then got me thinking what if you could recreate some of these roles at home yourself. You can buy dress up outfits from lots of places that are good and serve a purpose but what if you could get mini versions of your workwear like these amazing Children’s bib & brace e.s.image from Engelbert Strauss and make a real mini ME. You could have matching outfits and matching tools to do jobs around the house and in the garden they have some great shorts and pants as well just like what daddy would wear to work. They are real clothes which I think is a real bonus as sometimes dressing up clothes don’t last more than a few wears but these could provide hours of fun with mummy and daddy.
The boys are always helping us out in the garden and I have found these amazing mini gardener sets on amazon so they can follow us around and help dig the weeds and water the plants. My dad is a super keen gardener and grows all his own vegetables so these are going to be great for helping granddad out.
When looking at garden toys I came across this children’s tool set as well and these look amazing. They are probably a little bit grown up for the twins who are only 3 but if you child is slightly older and wants to be just like daddy these would be fantastic.
I think doing role play with our children is am important part of growing up. With these life like tools and dressing up outfits you can teach children so much. You can tell them all the important safety tips you have when using tools, you can teach them how to use the tools properly. Maybe even letting them make something of there own.
I think its very important for children to learn from real life scenarios using toys and role play. It teaches them so much and I am amazed at some of the things the twins do on a daily basis.
