We have recently taken part in the Penguin #StoriesForLife Campaign. We received 3 lovely books in a sparkly envelope. Jack was super excited at one book because it involved poop. He is an 8 year old boy after all. We couldn’t wait to have a sneaky read ourselves before deciding who we would gift the books to.
The three books received: Max and Bird, The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas and The Little Elephant Who Wants To Fall Asleep. Our favourite has to be The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas. It was so funny to read and we have read it a few times now so think I may need to invest in a copy for ourselves.
Part of our little challenge was to think about the books we most loved whilst growing up.
Neil’s was – James and the Giant Peach, he liked all Roald Dahl books.
Lisa’s was – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I love the book and the film still today,
Kaitlin’s’ was – Diary of a Wimpy Kid however she is only 11 so I am sure she will have more as the years go by.
Jack and the twins are way to young to have a favourite yet. We have lots of books in our house though and encourage reading lots so I’m sure they will find a favourite one day.
We have decided to gift our #StoriesForLife books to Jack’s school. They are trying to re stock their library and when its your birthday you donate a book to school and get to wear your own clothes for the day. I think these books will make a fab addition to the library and I hope they like the poop Christmas one just before the holidays start.
Reading is such an important part of growing up and we have done lots of book reviews please do stop by and take a look at some of our book reviews.
