We had the pleasure of attending the opening day of Draytons Magical Christmas the other weekend. What a magical day it was. We arrived about 10.30 am and the park was already buzzing. We collected our santa tickets and went off to explore. Thomas land was all decorated and festive but the boys chose soft play first. They love going in there and glad we did as it was quite busy later on.
After soft play we met up with Kaitlin and Jack who had been off doing there own thing mainly going on Ben 10 over and over again. We all went round Thomas land and enjoyed various rides they loved the helicopters because you can see so far away. The picture below is from Bertie bus which they also loved.
After Thomas land we went for some lunch. As guests of Drayton Manor we had been provided with some festive refreshments and the turkey sandwiches were amazing. The kids enjoyed ham and cheese as well as biscuits and a nice warm drink.
After lunch it was time to visit the zoo and have a look at the animals. The boys loved the reindeers and wouldn’t move for ages. Some of the zoo was closed whilst it being renovated over the winter season but there was still lots to see.
We loved watching the Thomas Land festive show and snow machines. It made you feel super festive and certainly got you in the festive spirit. Check out a video I did live on the day.
After having loads of fun all the day it was time to go see the big man himself. The boys were tired by this point so stayed sat in the pram. They are still a little young and scared of the big man in a red suit. Santa was fab though and had a good chat with Kaitlin and Jack before having a picture taken.
All four received a gift from santa which I must say was very impressive. They included and free golden ticket to go back in 2017, an elf and chocolate coin. The kids are super happy with the elf. I have been told by Kaitlin we are doing elf on the shelf this year. They already started by pinching the boys cereals.
We had a fantastic day out. I would recommend you wrap up warm as it was cold but that didn’t stop the kids from smiling and laughing all day. There are plenty of places to grab a warm drink and warm up throughout the day. We didn’t stay for the fireworks because the twins were absolutely wiped out after having so much fun. Kaitlin and Jack really enjoyed themselves and loved going on rides with the twins. I’m sure had more bigger rides been open though we wouldn’t have seen them all day.
I would really recommend going to Draytons Magical Christmas if you want to have some fantastic magical festive family time.
