Typical, the microwave which in fairness has had its days packed in on us. We had already been looking at new ones but there are so many to choose from. Now we have no choice but we are undecided if to get a normal bog standard microwave or go for one of the new combination oven ones.
Now the kids are getting older and I will be going back to work soon I want something they can use. I feel sick at the thought they might use the cooker but they will need some food when they get home. They are both big eaters so a snack wouldn’t be enough and I don’t want to spend all my spare time making slow cooker meals for them to just microwave. I want then to be more independent and learn to make things themselves. The new conventional ovens are like a proper oven and allow you to cook in them rather than just re heat.
There are so many too choose from on the market today there is a great range of combination microwaves out there. We particuylary like the idea they can make cheese on toast. Kaitlin is quite a good cook though so I am sure she could use it to make other things as well with practice.
We came across this video in You Tube of cheese on toast being made and it looks great.
The combination ovens compared to a bog standard microwave have loads of other features as well that appeal to us and we steam fish all the time but I hate making little tin foil parcels. The combination oven will get rid of that part for me and we can make fish and med veg so much easier to make.
Price is such an important factor so I was really surprised with the range of combination microwave oven by Panasonic and the price range. You don’t have to break the bank to get one and can pick one up for around £200 or spend more depending on what spec you require and what your budget is.
After only a little research I think I am defiantly going to invest in a combination oven. It’s going to take that worry away for me when I go back to work that the kids aren’t eating junk and can eat something proper without hurting themselves or my kitchen.
