The grotto at intu Trafford Centre is no ordinary grotto. Intu has transformed a winter lodge in Barton Square into a fully immersive experience with a magical ice kingdom ready to unfold before little ones’ eyes. Festive visitors are invited to begin their enchanting journey in a warming, cosy wooden chalet with Norbert, the latest – and – littlest addition to the reindeer herd. En route to seek out Santa, children will be escorted by friendly Eskimo elves including Twinkle-toes, Brandy Snap and Billy Tinkle, into an icy world so frosty it glitters. Along the way, they can point out wintery woodland creatures including snow rabbits, huskies and more. Its such a great Polar Expedition.
It’s the next stage of their journey where children will be truly wowed by their surroundings. The first of its kind. Polar Expedition uses augmented reality technology to excite children with interactive seals, polar bears, whales and penguins. The animals jump around the room and pose for petting on the glaciers, before cheekily splashing visitors by jumping into the ocean.
To complete their experience:
Little ones will be invited to meet Santa and end their trip with a complementary Playmobil toy.
Richard Paxton said. “The moment children from all ages walk into the Polar Expedition, they are transformed into a completely magical Christmas world. Every element of their experience has been taken into careful consideration. From the icy winds of the North Pole, to the enchanting nature of little Norbert.
“It will be a feast for the senses for both children and their parents. We’re very excited to welcome families to enjoy the experience – we’re sure you’ll love it.”
Open until Saturday 24 December, the Polar Expedition at intu Trafford Centre costs £7.50 per child and £5 per adult. Families are urged to book now to avoid disappointment: http://intu.co.uk/traffordcentre/event-archive/santa-s-secret-workshop-grotto
