What better way to spend half term than with the kids having fun baking cakes and doing crafts. Today they wanted to bake so we decided to make some spider crispy cakes. They are really easy to make and Edward loved helping out and getting involved whilst Euan was asleep.
What you need
Bar of Chocolate (about 200g)
75g Rice Crispies
Strawberry shoes laces (you can use sour ones if you like)
How to make them
First of all melt the chocolate, you can either do this over boiling water or in the microwave if using boiling water be super careful and make sure an adult is helping.
Once melted add the rice crispies handful at a time and mix in the chocolate making sure they are all well covered. You may need a few less or a few more it all depends on how chocolaty you like them.
Once mixed you need to lay out your cupcake cases and use the strawberry shoe lases to create legs like below.
You then add your chocolate cereal mix and place marshmallows on as eyes.
Once all done place in the fridge for about 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
Happy Halloween Everyone.
Make sure you take a look at how to make your own spooky Ghost lamps.
