Jack and Neil have been testing their Star Wars knowledge these last few weeks whilst trying out the new timeline game we have been sent to review.
They are both Star Wars fanatics and this game has been a great way to help Jack. It has made him have conversations and has also helped him with his reading skills. Both these are key areas he need to work on and this has helped us do it in a fun way so no tears and tantrums.
The cards come presented in a lovely metal tin which I really like because cardboard boxes always get ripped in our house and you then lose half the game. The cards are very well made and with withstand a lot of playing also great in house full of boys.
Each card is a still picture from a scene in the films which you have to place the correct chronological order. You can make the game as long or short as you like by changing how many cards you start with. Each card has a picture and a short description of the scene along with the frame number from the film.
The box contains 110 cards featuring scenes from episodes IV, V and VI from the star wars original trilogy.
They started off with just 3 cards each and then went to 5 and now have 7 each. The game has really helped us with Jacks communication because it’s fun he doesn’t see it as learning. He has been reading the cards himself developing his reading skills and also talking to us so it’s really helped with his speech.
Not only are Jack and Neil fans but my mum is too so she has really enjoyed some grandma grandson time playing this game. Even if you’re not a star wars fan you can still play Kaitlin and I find it fun against each other because we both have no clue.
The games says from 8+ however Jack was 7 when he played but he is a massive fan. I would say aged 8 + is probably about the right age range otherwise.
