Our thoughts on Kids Dining at Frankie and Benny’s
On Saturday we took a trip to the Trafford Centre to have a look at the offering for child diners. We had a table booked at Frankie and Benny’s which is located just across from the Orient. It was Jacks Birthday a few weeks ago when we should have originally been going so it was like a belated birthday meal.
Upon arrival Jack was super giddy, he knew that the meal was all about him. We were greeted promptly and shown to our seats. The table had balloons on and we were all given menus along with colouring books and crayons. Our server Gabby was extremely attentive and offered us drinks straight away. This was great service, no waiting and with 2 two year olds you want everything to run smoothly.
The boys all had a great time banging balloons around and just generally being kids. There was no issue with this and I felt comfortable that they could have a great time.
The boys all ordered from children’s menu which has a good variety to choose from so something for everyone’s tastes. There is pasta, burgers, nuggets all the things kids like and you can tailor the meal to what you want by adding fries, beans, veg, mash, they are super flexible and will cater for you if they can.
Jack and Kaitlin tried out the milkshakes but as you can see they didn’t really get a look in and we should have ordered 4 so they all had one each.
The food was really nice the boys all had burgers and chips with beans, although Euan enjoyed my coleslaw the most. Jack had a design your own burger and wasn’t really taken by the bacon but it was ok he just took it off and popped it to one side.
Once we had all eaten our mains the desserts menu came out and everyone was spoilt for choice. Jack had already made his mind up before even ordering his main that he was having the Candy Cart which he has had before. We ordered 3 of these for the boys.
When dessert was ready they played happy birthday for Jack with a candle in his ice cream. He was so shocked and loved all the attention. He said it was brilliant. Great to make the birthday boy/girl feel special.
We had such a fab time visiting Frankie and Benny’s at the Trafford Centre. The restaurant is well laid out, spacious, the staff were amazing. Our server Gabby made sure we had everything we needed and nothing was too much trouble. The only thing Jack said would make it better and I think the twins would agree would be maybe a little play space outside and to the right of the restaurant there was a big space that was just un used that would be great for a little play area and would certainly attract more families. The Trafford centre has loads of places to eat and we cant wait to try out some more.
* we were provided with the meal free of charge to conduct this review.
