My dream holiday just came true
I have always dreamed about going to America for a holiday and soon my dream holiday will come true. My dad is taking Kaitlin and Jack crown green bowling for the week so Neil saw the chance to take me away and arranged for his mum to have the twins. Yikes excitement kicked in at that point.
Neil has always been great at booking trips and finding flights. At first I left him to it and said I will go with the flow. We priced up different options and places. We are going away in the school holidays though so guess what everywhere was just so expensive. This got him thinking then about the chance of lifetime, well certainly our only chance for the next few years anyway. VEGAS lets go to Vegas he said. I was sceptical at first about the cost involved but after doing some research myself I quickly realised it wasn’t going to cost much more than an nice hotel in Greece would be.
Let the research begin.
I initially looked on Skyscanner for flights that suited the dates we had in mind. From the search results you can then work out the right flights and routes to suit you. I then started to price up flights direct with carriers. We found the perfect flights from Manchester with American Airlines. The dream holiday is now starting to become a reality.
Before booking the flights I wanted to check we could get a hotel at a good rate and that the overall cost was within our budget. Initially I looked direct with the hotels we wanted to stay in to get an idea on price. We discovered that the trip for 7 nights was totally affordable and that’s when project dream holiday started.
I then started doing more research and looked at websites like Expedia for any good package deals but found in this instance it was cheaper to book thing separately.
First thing we booked was our flights; we booked direct with American Airlines. The booking process was quick and simple and really easy to do. We picked our seats at point of booking and we received our tickets within minutes of booking. We have both signed up for the AA Advantage program as well which allows you to earn points that can be exchanged for flight and upgrades. You never know when the time will come again for a dream holiday so worth having just in case.
Booking our perfect hotel was really simple, I did some research and that gave me a ball park figure on what I wanted to pay. I used a company called Travel Freaks who were able to beat any prices I had seen on other websites or direct with the hotel itself. They had excellent customer services and even called me back to go through some prices for our activities.
We have booked the Monte Carlo Hotel for 7 nights at a cost of £468. I am more than pleased with this cost. I can now start to plan my activities and holiday extra’s. We will look at what the hotel has to offer in part 2 along with the other MGM Resorts International hotels in Las Vegas.
Travel freaks can book everything from flights, hotels and activities to full packages and can tailor make a holiday for you. I will certainly use them again when looking at our next holiday.
Our dream holiday is now a reality.
Holiday Extra’s now
You can book all sorts of extras to make your holiday even more special. We started by looking at the airport the night before and travel to and from the airport.
We found a company called Holiday Extras that can book airport hotels, parking and of course the VIP departure lounges and much more.
We have opted for an overnight Hotel stay at the Crown Plaza Manchester airport with 8 days parking. This means after a long day dropping the kids at grandparents I can relax before my big trip.
Next stage of planning
So my plan now is to do lots of research on what I want to do whilst in resort. Below is the list of things we have thought about upto now.
Day trips whilst in resort – Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire.
Shows – Cirque De Solei shows look amazing.
Eating out and enjoying the nightlife.
Make sure you come back and check out Part 2 the Itinerary planning, and then our trip and what we think of the flights, hotel, shows, trips and everything we do.
