Adventure time for Preschool children is so important
Adventure time is great to help preschool children develop and learn. They get to explore and be themselves and try things out of their comfort zone.
We visited Tandle Hill Country park in Oldham this week and we had such a great time. It started as just a quick trip to the little adventure park they have which has sand pits and slides. This quickly turned into a missive nature walk round the park up hills down hills and nearly into little streams – mummy caught them just in time.
The first thing we did on arrival was go straight to the park. The boys played and had lots of fun you can see from the video below the excitement in their faces.
Once we left the park area we made our way down into the forest and there was a little wooden bridge running over a tiny stream. I then had a great idea and thought they will love walking over it, so off we went, what I didn’t expect was them to then make their way round the whole of Tandle hills.
We collected lots of acorns that seemed to ne all over the ground. They also loved playing with the leaves picking them up and throwing them in the air, It was really nice to see them having so much fun.
We made our way up the giant steps they climbed all the way to the top on their own and we did a few rounds of high five and cheers at the top.
After a while they did become tired luckily I had remembered to pack drinks and crisps so that gave them an energy boost for the rest of the journey. I had to endure ten minutes of sitting in a field first though.
We carried on round the park having a final pit stop on the bench before tackling the giant hill back. Euan was tired and needed to be carried but Edward walked up the biggest ever hill all by himself. I was super proud of him because Edward is the super sweet and cuddly twin. I have now discovered he is also the fearless adventurous one when out and about.
It’s great to get the kids out exploring. We walked for about 2 hours in total, the boys seemed wiped out but they had so much fun. I am now looking for our next adventure time walk venue.
