Drayton Manor Park welcomes 50 millionth visitor!
50 million is a figure hard to imagine, but today (Tuesday 14th June) Drayton Manor Park near Tamworth Staffordshire, has welcomed its 50 millionth visitor after opening its gates 66 years ago!
Jamie White, 27, from Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, was named the lucky visitor at 10am this morning. Visiting with Amanda Nash, his mom, Janet and John Sheppard, his grandparents, Chelsea Manning, 21, his girlfriend and his son Hunter, aged 3, for the day, they were treated to a spectacular welcome with confetti, balloons and the prize of a lifetime!
Jamie and his family received a VIP Thomas Land™ room with light refreshments and lunch overlooking Thomas Land, a personal visit from the Fat Controller, a personal guide for the day, fast pass entry and exit for the rides all day long, a photo pass to collect up to four photos and a meal for the family at the Grill Inn restaurant.
He also took home a five year Season Pass, providing unlimited entry to the park, plus a special Stay & Play package for the Drayton Manor Hotel valid for 12 months where Jamie and his guest can spend a night in the presidential suite or a Thomas themed room at the on-site four star hotel!*
The family owned and run park was first opened in 1950 by its current owners the Bryan family. Over the years the park has grown to become a multi award-winning attraction, and one of the best family destinations in the UK, now welcoming in excess of one million guests a year!
Speaking after the announcement, Jamie said, “We can’t believe that we are the 50 millionth visitor. It is the first time that we have visited the park and Hunter was so excited to meet the Fat Controller. It has made our day even more special than we thought it would be and we can’t wait to come back again.”
