Rugby overload with two days at Rugby AM camp
Competition at Salford with Salford Red Devils foundation
League game against Woolston Green
Woolston Green 14-7 Oldham St Anne’s
Monday and Tuesday Jack, Harley and Oscar went to rugby camp organised by Rugby AM at saddleworth Rangers and what a fun two days they had. They were muddy tired and done in when they had finished but learnt lots of new skills played some great games and made some new mates. Rugby overload I thought when Jack was wiped out asleep Tuesday night but oh no not Jack he was up Wednesday full of energy he really is like and Duracell bunny.
Saturday the lads played in a tournament organised but the Salford Red Devils foundation, we struggled with some of the games but the boys did some awesome tackles, Jack took truffle shuffle out in one big tackle, I was shocked as we’re all the other parents. Harley was the shining star for me though he had to help Limehurts Lions out as they were a man short, he turned his top inside out he looked petrified playing against his own team but went in to score his first ever try just a shame it wasn’t for us.
After the tournament they then all went along to watch Salford go on to win Leeds at home and they had the pleasure of doing a lap of honour round the ground at half time. Such a great day for the boys and yet again I thought rugby overload surely he must be done in for the week.
Oh no not Jack off to homers he went with Jacob and the little monkeys stayed up playing pie face and from reports back they went through a full can of squirty cream the little nutters.
Sunday and the big league game against Woolston Green who remain unbeaten this season.
First of all we arrive to be greated by the muddiest footpath ever poor Cassy nearly got stuck lol. I have never giggled so much.
(Sorry Cassy you can beat me up at weekend)
But that’s enough of the mum’s let tell you how the game went. Well we lost 14-7 to a strong side the boys and girl did really well though we tried and the effort some of them put in was fabulous. We also played a lot better than we did last year and actually gave them a good game this season. We saw some excellent tackles but still need to work on going round the legs as that caught us out a few times when they were quick to off load.
We had such a great week total rugby overload but Jack has loved every second of it.
Man of the Match – Oscar
Top tackler – Will
Most improved – Amy
Homer – Just like to say what tremendous effort today from all the kids who played after backing up from yesterday,to come to a team like Woolston who haven’t been beaten all season and be going toe to toe with them for 30 minutes is a credit to these kids we give it our all on defense and attack all the game, we was only getting beat by a couple tries coming to the last ten and there experience told but us coaches and parents and the kids should be really proud I no and I can speak for Paul and gaz are, well done to will who’s tackling is text book and goes round the pins and rightly so got best tackler,Aimee did really well and got most improved for getting stuck in and all though she got big hit a couple of times got up and showered character and carried on,on to Mom Oscar not matter what u don’t have to be the biggest lad but the has a big heart and made some great runs and puts his body on the line.🏈🏈 COYS 🏈 🏈
Paul – When you referee it’s hard to see the game the same way. But what I did see was a great game of rugby and a fantastic effort from everyone on the team. There were some outstanding individual performances but they all worked hard for each other and pulled off a great performance against a team that has not been beat this season. I am very proud of all the boys today. Including new boy aimee. COYS
Gaz – Massive improvement today on yesterday’s game guys. Some real commitment and will to win out there against an unbeaten quality team. Also some huge individual performances.Keep it up guys you’re all doing your parents and the club proud.. COYS
