Rugby Roundup against Thatto Heath
Thatto Heath 14 – 5 St Anne’s
What a game the boys for this weeks rugby roundup, they did us all proud but my Jack especially made me very proud today my little star.
On arrival and looking at some of those Thatto Heath lads as parents we wanted to know the secret as no way could they be same age group they were huge only explanation I could think was they stick them in grow bags at night with some super feed lol. They were way bigger than our lads but as usual they didn’t let it scare them and went in hard to defend there line.
Some of the lads had a great day today Max was just everywhere doing some great tackles but the lads also got a talking to from the coaches for not taking advice and doing what they told them to resulting in max running to the opposite side of the field to do a tackle when the lads should have been on it.
They played as a team and worked together against a very well organised side that apparently train four times a week (is that too much for a 7 year old though hhmm).
David was a little super star today scoring two try’s if he keeps this up his mum and dad will have to remortgage the house to pay him think it was £5 a try agreed before start of season, I see a revision of price coming soon.
My jack though was my superstar and he has been re named by homer as the ‘human wrecking ball’ he just ran straight and hard every time pushing those players out of the way. He scored a superb try and made me really proud today working with his team getting involved in tackles and just being a little super star.
The whole team did well today, against a strong Thatto Side. We need to work on the running straight and hard and not trying to dummy the other side as we lost yards too many times today by players running backwards instead of straight and hard, something to take away and work on though for the lads and it was a great game to watch.
Let’s keep listening and practicing and get ready for our next game after Easter.
