Our trip on the trampolines at Go Air Manchester
We attended the official opening of Go Air Manchester today and what a fab few hours we had.
On arrival at Go Air you are asked to complete a waiver form for obvious reasons this is really simple to do and only takes a couple of minutes.
You are issued with wristbands which correspond to the hour you are booked in for, you then have to pop on your special socks which have rubber grips on the bottom (they cost £2) but you keep them and once purchased that’s it done you can use again and again. You then have to watch a health and safety video which is really good especially if you have never been before it tells you how to jump from trampoline to trampoline and what the rules are, its a great way to make sure everyone knows the rules before entering and a good way to make sure people have actually paid attention as reading something when kids are excited to do something and relay it to them is impossible and it ensure everyone knows what to do.
They had lots of various sized lockers for you to store your valuables and they need a £1 coin but that is refunded when finished (like the swimming baths ones). This is really handy especially for a mum on her own I knew all our belongings were safe and secure.
Before you go onto the trampoline area there is a great café which looks onto the trampoline area. There is plenty of tables and they serve a good variety of food and drinks, prices were reasonable and what you would expect to see in a place like this. They do recommend you don’t eat before bouncing though and I am sure anyone with imagination can understand why, its a great area though if the kids are bouncing and your not you can get yourself a coffee and sit back relax and watch them work up a sweat from the comfort of your seat.
Now onto the best part the trampolines and what’s on offer. The grey section as you enter the trampoline area is for under 6’s and has a little soft play area with slide and ball pool, Edward loved this area.
There is a series of trampolines for them jump on as well Euan loved just walking from end to end. My only criticism and one they had already noticed and are working on possibly changing is that the under 6’s can walk straight onto the yellow area for the over 6’s and as a mum with twins aged two this became a battle of the wills keeping them in the grey area. Some of it was the boys age and understanding of the word NO and some it is really easy to go from area to area but I do understand the reason they have to keep them separate and the staff were brilliant and never shouted or moaned they actually assisted in helping me keep the boys safe which to me was a great comfort and reassurance and the reason I cant wait to go back and try a toddler session mid week in term time,.
Both Edward and Euan were unsure about bouncing themselves on the trampolines but loved being bounced with someone else either holding them or holding your hands and you jumping up and down. They loved the longer trampolines because they could run across whilst you were jumping behind them.
The older kids have loads of things to choose from, they can use the large arena of trampolines, the dual stations dodge ball, basket ball and the air bag and I am sure there are some things I didn’t see that they kids said they did.
Kaitlin and Jack enjoyed trying everything out they both loved every minute of it. They were extremely shattered and pink in the cheeks when leaving and I would highly recommend shorts and t-shirt for your visit especially coming into the summer months.
You can hold parties at the venue with prices starting from £16 each the party rooms looked great and had loads of space in them this is room 3 below. You get 60 mins bouncing session and 40 mins use of a dedicated party room check the Go Air Manchester website for more details
The cost to jump is £10 per person for over 6’s and £5 for tots it is advisable to book online before going to ensure you get a space at the time you require, you can just turn up but may have to wait at busy times.
All the information you will need is on the Go Air website including the Waiver which you could complete at home to save you some time on the day.
We loved out trip and will certainly be returning I can’t wait to try the dedicated tots sessions with the twins.
