Well the 2016 season has started with a great training session at Tandle Hills doing some fitness training running up hills and to the monument at the highest point in the park. The boys had a great session and Jack did really well. Fitness is something he has struggled with, it’s not his strongest point but he loves sport and he is making a real effort to improve in this area.
We had a busy rugby weekend this weekend as well with the lads having a pre season friendly against Mayfield and they had a brilliant game. Jack scored a try so I was super proud and the other lads all did really well especially the new lads who haven’t played before they got to see exactly what the game is all about and what the season has in store for them. It was freezing as usual and pouring down with rain but that’s just normal for a rugby day, I certainly need to invest in some warm socks and wellies before next week as my feet were frozen.
Then highlight of the weekend has been the U7’s and U8’s teams being mascot at Salford Red Devils today. Such a proud day for parents and a memorable day for the lads.
Rugby league is such a great family sport and we have a whole new set of friends through Jack playing for St Anne’s not only that the discipline and fitness it has provided have been fantastic for a hyperactive little boy so certainly worth looking for a local club if you are looking to introduce your children to a team sport that is structured friendly and well disciplined.
