Girlguiding helper for the evening
I took a rare chance to spend some quality time with Kaitlin and help out at her girl guides last night and what a fab time I had. They did Christmas craft two things I love so I loved every minute of it.
The guides and brownies work together on some nights so there were about 20 girls all together last night and it was lovely to be able to help some of the little girls make some lovely Christmas baubles and Santa hats to take home. (Brought back some great childhood memories of when I was a brownie)
The girls are all super well behaved and seem to really enjoy themselves, the guides being the older girls help the little ones out when they are stuck and they are all like a little family.
Kaitlin started brownies when she about 8 years old and has loved going once a week and has also been on 2 pack holidays now and is looking forward to her third next year.
Girl Guiding is a great way for little girls to make friends and learn lots of new things and this is something we have encouraged Kaitlin to do so she has a different circle of friends to have fun with from her school friends and she really does enjoy it.
You can be a part of Girlguiding from the age of 5 and below are the age groups for each section:
Rainbows ages 5 – 7
Brownies ages 7 – 10
Guides ages 10 – 14
Senior section ages 14 – 25
I would really encourage you to have a look in your area for your local group and go and take a look at what they do, it fantastic for children especially shy children you will be amazed at the confidence they will get from going. Kaitlin cried on her first night at guides and Vicky was saying last night she could not believe she is the same girl because she is just really loud, confident, and helpful. You will not regret it.
To find your local group or learn more about what Girlguiding is all about take a look at the Girlguding Website you will find everything you need there including your local group and how to contact them.
