Presentation night 2015
Well the 2015 has drawn to and end and it is time to celebrate the season with our annual presentation evening and it was a night to remember full of smiles laughter and extremely proud parents.
The evening was well organised like most of the events at the club are and all the trophies were lay out in order on the table for everyone to see. This season we celebrated our successes with U7’s and minions, U8’s, U9’s and the U11’s so it was pretty busy with all the lads running round nice and smart in shirts and ties.
Tom kicked of the evening with a few videos one being well wishes and a message from Kevin Sinfield a player many of the boys aspire to be and look up to so this was pretty special for them all.
The first trophies were for all the players for the contribution to the team throughout the season and they were presented to them by Salford Red Devils players Josh Griffin and Greg Johnson the lads loved this. This was followed by our signature sing song ‘oh when the saints’
After a short break, and a few drink we moved onto the special recognition awards and these are as below with a brief note about who chooses the winners.
Most improved – chosen by the coaches this is a player they think has improved through the season and changed their game for the better
Spectators Player – this award is chosen by the spectators as the award say so usually the other mums, dads grandparents an anyone else who comes regularly to watch the boys play.
Players player – this is chosen by the lads themselves, the player they think deserves the award and has been a key player for them throughout the season.
Coaches player – this one is chosen by the coaches and is someone who they think deserves the award.
Boy of Steel – this is chosen by the coaches and is usually a boy wo has stood out time and time again over the season it’s not about scoring the most tackles being the best tackler but being a good all round player.
So the time has come to announce who the winner were for the U7’s team
Most improved – Jack Procter
Spectators Player – Shaun Taylor
Players Player – Max Haliwell
Coaches Player – Michael Smith
Boy of Steel – Zak Johnson
I was super super proud of my boy winning most improved I was such a proud mum as I know the other parents were of the boys as well.
Then the hilarious moment when the coaches come to tell me that Jack’s real trophy had been smashed I couldn’t stop laughing before he even got to touch it someone had knocked it off the table so he’s got a replacement one for now till they order him a new one but that didn’t matter it was the fact he had won that was important.
What a fantastic end to the 2015 season and we now look forward to the season next year but sadly we lose one of our coaches and some of the players who will stay with Johnny and the U7’s but Paul and Homer are ready to smash some teams and keep the green and gold flag flying high for the U8’s #COYS. I know Jack certainly can’t wait t get back to training and playing in the new year.
