Do you need some cheap decorating ideas for Halloween and a way to keep the kids busy for a few hours? These lamps are so much fun to make. Really easy for the kids to get involved and super cheap as well. All you will need is old milk bottles some markers of felt tips and tea lights.
Great for placing on the front of your house or dot them around the garden. We made loads last year and we are planning a line on the front of the house this year.
What you need
Old milk bottles (the plastic ones) various sizes make them even more quirky.
Permanent markers in various colours.
Some battery powered lights. You can get these from Amazon or a local pound shop.
How to make them
Clean all you milk bottles out and keep the lids.
Remove all labels from the outside.
Cut a small hole at the back for the light to slot into (children get adults to help with this).
Using the permanent markers draw different face on the bottles to represent different ghost (happy, sad, funny, scary). As you can see ours have ended up being a little girly thanks to Kaitlin and her artistic flair. You can be as creative as you like though and you don’t just have to use markers you could use wool for hair as and example. Just let your imagination run wild.
Once decorated and light are in place all that’s left to do is find a home for you ghosts.
We usually make loads and line them all at the front of the house. This year we are going to dot them round the garden as well. We also have head height hedge that we are going to wedge some in for when people walk past.
